Children’s Heart Federation response to the consultation on the Green Paper:  Special Education Needs and Disability - Support and Aspiration 

 

CHF's individual consultation response picks up the issues that are particularly pressing for children with CHD, many of which are also applicable to children with other complex conditions. We look first at the profile of children and young people with CHD and the challenges they face in the context of education and then look at issues of planning raised by the Green Paper.

The response of the Children’s Heart Federation to the consultation: Safe and Sustainable - A new vision for children’s congenital heart services in England 

 

Our response to the consultation draws on input from:

  • CHF Member groups;
  • Parents who have contacted us through our information service or at events;
  • Points raised through CHF’s social media activity;
  • Survey about the proposed changes to children’s heart surgery commissioned by CHF and delivered by Ipsos MORI in autumn 2009;
  • Participating in all the public engagement and consultation events within the Safe and Sustainable review.

    Response to: Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS

    Consultation response on ‘Liberating the NHS’ White Paper 

     

    We welcome all the elements of the vision of an NHS laid out at 1.10, except for ‘puts clinicians in the driving seat’. We contest the polarisation ‘clinicians good, managers bad’ advanced by this strategy. We support a competency-based approach to the National Health Service, giving professionals the opportunity to shine within their core skill set.

    The Children’s Heart Federation response to consultation on Draft service specification standards for children’s heart surgery services 

     

    NHS consulted on Draft Service Specification Standards for children's heart surgery services in autumn 2009 as part of the Safe and Sustainable programme. The consultation closed on 10 November 2009. Follow the link to read the CHF response.
